Ceremonial cocoa- Ecuador

Ceremonial cocoa – why Ecuador?

The iconic Arriba Nacional variety, known for its delicate, floral aroma, nutty notes and velvety creaminess, is considered the highest class of Ecuadorian cocoa. No bitterness, no bitterness, just a delicate creamy taste with notes of orange blossom, bergamot and jasmine. Exactly as nature created it. Thanks to the soil conditions and microclimate around the Cerecity growing area, the cocoa beans have a distinct floral profile and delicate fruity notes – typical of this variety.

What is ceremonial cacao?

Ceremonial cacao is minimally processed, raw cacao intended for ritual, meditation and well-being purposes. High-quality ceremonial cacao is fermented and dried using traditional methods, then slowly roasted at low temperatures (or not at all – the raw version) and ground into a paste.

The Arriba Naciona variety is ideal due to:

  • purity of taste – no need for sweeteners or flavors
  • naturally higher theobromine content – a gentle stimulant that promotes focus and openness without the jitters of caffeine
  • magnesium and antioxidant content – supporting muscle relaxation and overall well-being
  • low processing – preserves natural enzymes and substances

Recommended dosage:

  • 10 – 15 g- ideal start for beginners
  • 15 – 25 g- more frequent use, light state
  • 30 – 45 g- deeper ceremony, meditation

How to prepare? – let’s do it!

Heat water or plant milk about 50-100 ml, but not until boiling (ideally 60–70 °C). We personally recommend preparing ceremonial cocoa with water, because milk absorbs its flavor and depth – but this choice is completely up to you! Add 10-20 g of chopped ceremonial cocoa (the dose depends on the intention). Then stir until the cocoa is completely dissolved. Season with a pinch of salt – it will enhance the flavor and support the effects. Add honey, maple syrup, a pinch of cinnamon or vanilla to taste. We drink it ideally in silence or with intention.

Sustainable agriculture: One of the major cocoa plantations, Arriba Nacional, is located in the vicinity of Cerecita – This is a small location in the province of Guayas. The Cerecita area is known for its responsible approach to nature and fair trade, which supports local farmers and traditional cocoa growing methods. Ecological balance and biodiversity are respected. Most processes are carried out manually, ensuring the preservation of traditional techniques and high product quality.

Ethical impact: By purchasing our Ceremonial Cocoa- Ecuador, you support the preservation of indigenous varieties that have been almost displaced by cheap hybrids. In Cerecit, small farmers have decent working conditions, social insurance and access to healthcare. No child labor, no exploitation.
