Female herbal steaming operates on a similar principle to classic sinus steaming, with the difference that we steam the pelvic floor area. It is a common, hygienic practice among women worldwide. We can also perceive it as a sacred, healing ritual through which we connect with our womb and our femininity. This practice can support and revitalize our reproductive organs.
It is true that our yoni is self-cleaning, but female herbal steaming can bring even greater support into your life and help alleviate potential discomfort.
Female Herbal Steaming.

Avoid steaming during menstruation, as steam accelerates blood flow and can cause undesirable excessive bleeding. Instead, you can steam before and after menstruation, which will help support and cleanse the uterus.
Avoid steaming during pregnancy, as steam relaxes and opens the cervix, which can lead to premature labor. You can indulge in herbal steaming towards the end of pregnancy, from the completed 38th week, as excellent preparation for childbirth. Generally, steaming is not recommended before the completed 38th week.
Steaming after insemination could disrupt sperm, fertilization, or implantation. Therefore, avoid steaming during your fertile window if you are trying to conceive.
Steam accelerates circulation and opens the cervix. Therefore, if you frequently experience spontaneous bleeding, it is better to avoid steaming and supplement with nettle tea. Nettle is packed with iron and many minerals, making it the right supportive herb for your body during bleeding.
My own experience is that in this case, herbal steaming is both a contraindication and not. It depends on each woman and her body’s reaction to moist steam. If we choose a blend of herbs with anti-inflammatory effects, opt for a shorter, less intense steam, and adequately care for ourselves after steaming (local showering of intimate areas and drying thoroughly), steaming can be beneficial. However, it is important to observe your body’s signals. If herbal steaming does not feel good to you personally with this problem, do not continue. Instead, choose sitz baths; you can use the same herb mixture as for steaming.
If a woman is bleeding heavily during a miscarriage, herbal steaming is absolutely unsuitable, as it can cause further undesirable bleeding. If the bleeding has subsided and you need help with uterine cleansing, herbal steaming will be a great aid.
If you are preparing herbal steaming for the first time, I recommend shorter steaming sessions initially. It is important to listen to our body's signals when it tells us enough. Each of us is different, and some may be more sensitive to heat. In this case, I recommend a shorter 5-7 minute steaming session.
If you are more experienced with herbal steaming, I recommend a session of approximately 10-15 minutes over steam, until the steam cools down. This is a steaming duration that you certainly cannot go wrong with. If you feel that the steam is cooling too quickly, I recommend choosing a larger pot (3L or more) or acquiring an induction cooker, which will ensure continuous, gentle heating during steaming.
The more regularly, the better!
If you are not troubled by any gynecological issues, you can steam intuitively, or always before the onset of menstruation and also after its completion. Steaming before and after menstruation will support menstrual comfort and thorough cleansing of the uterine lining.
If you are experiencing a specific gynecological problem and wish to approach female herbal steaming as a form of therapy/treatment, we recommend contacting a certified herbal steaming instructor and consulting with them about your problem.
Many women choose to do herbal steaming from the comfort of their home. However, if you are addressing a specific gynecological problem and want to tailor the therapy precisely for your body, or if you are looking for someone to guide you through this technique and show you how to safely handle its preparation, definitely seek out a certified instructor in your area who will set up a “customized therapeutic plan” for you. You can use my services online from the comfort of your home or with me in the Liptov region…
Do not hesitate to invest in quality steaming aids. The practice of herbal steaming itself is not as comfortable without a quality steaming chair and accessories. We already know that behind every physiological problem lies psychosomatics, and thus insufficient relaxation during steaming can significantly affect the therapeutic effect of the steaming procedure. Allocate sufficient time and a place for steaming where nothing will disturb you.
Regular steaming with the help of a quality steaming chair and accessories is one of the key factors. They will ensure your comfort, practicality, and functionality, and save you time. Female herbal steaming is not a one-time matter. It will be there for you in every cyclical period throughout the year, whether for menstrual pain, childbirth, menopause, and various physiological changes, as your intimate home helper. Moreover, thanks to the easy disassembly of the legs, you can take your steaming chair with you on vacation, to a cottage, or anywhere else.
The production of each steaming chair involves a whole range of factors. Design, production of first-class processed solid wood with suitable surface treatment, testing, engraving, and careful packaging in which the chair arrives at your home.
In addition to the mentioned factors, the price naturally also reflects the added value, which is achieving quality and functionality, with the help of natural materials and services of local craftsmen and small businesses in Liptov, in an ecological way.
